Ahornach - Italy

Paragliding Holland has found a beautiful flying spot in a side valley of the Pustertal valley, a very popular holiday spot in South Tyrol, Italy. Ahornach is a wonderful place to teach: nice spacious take-off, large landing area and favorable flight conditions. The environment here is also beautiful: we are right on the border of the impressive snowy Alpine main massif towards the north and the overwhelming Dolomites range to the south.

Vast choice of flying sites!
Ahornach is our home site and is easily accessible by car. From Ahornach we can make very nice trips, such as to Speikboden, a wonderfully beautiful take-off that is accessible by a cable car and chair lift. Speikboden is a famous spot for cross country flying and from there mega flights have been made through the Alps. With a northerly wind we move to the Kronplatz: a beautiful mountain just behind Bruneck where you can also go up with a cable car. The Kronplatz has several take-offs, with a spacious landing down in the valley. Enough variety!

Nice holiday region
This is also a very nice holiday area for your family! We are close to the city of Bruneck where all facilities are available, nice restaurants (good Italian food!), shopping, etc. And we are right on the border of the Alps and the Dolomites. From here you can easily make day trips to, for example, the famous Tre Cime (Dolomites) or the beautiful Ahrn valley (Alps).

Comfortable stay
We are all staying in the nice and affordable Gasthof Toblhof . This small hotel is located at the bottom of the mountain, near the landing area and on the way towards the take-off of Ahornach and offers a lot of comfort for little money. Half board (overnight stay, breakfast and dinner) costs only 43 euros p.p. based on a double room. The food is superb and well stocked! There is no campsite in Ahornach, the nearest campsites are located in and around Bruneck, such as Camping Ansitz Wildberg . From the campsite it is then about a 30-minute drive to Ahornach.
